Phil K. Jones
Vice President, International Development
Phil Jones joined KSCW at Vice President of International Development in October 2005 after 30 years of federal service with United States Agency for International Development (USAID), The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the Peace Corps. Mr. Jones is an accomplished International Development Specialist with work experience in over 30 countries in Africa, Latin America and Eastern Europe. He is skilled in designing and managing results-based agriculture and natural resource programs. As a career Foreign Service Officer with USAID, he led the design of over $60 million of USAID projects and activities in Senegal, Central Africa and Guatemala. After Hurricane Mitch in Central America, he coordinated interagency collaboration for USAID with the USDA, EPA, NASA, and local governments to develop a regional early warning system for Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador.
His most recent position before coming to KSCW was USAID’s Eastern Europe and Eurasia Bureau Environmental Officer. Prior to working for USAID, he served as the Associate Peace Corps Director for Kenya. He also worked as a Soil Conservationist for USDA in Texas. Mr. Jones began his career serving as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Brazil. He brings the necessary expertise and know-how to serve our clients that have an interest in the future US roadmap for international development and the resulting funding decisions for federal contracting, educational and research grants, and technological advancement. He holds a Bachelors of Science Degree in Agriculture from Texas Tech University and a Masters Degree in Agriculture from Sam Houston State University.
Mr. Jones has led KSCW’s efforts in international development by advising our clients on various international issues, including large development activities in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Under his leadership, KSCW has facilitated agriculture and trade training as well as visitation programs for senior level officials from Romania, Thailand, the Philippines, El Salvador, Panama, Honduras, Argentina, Uruguay, and Venezuela. He has also provided consultancy services to KSCW;s University clientele in their international programs.
